PQI Calibration - Frequently Asked Questions
What types of calibration services does PQI offer?
PQI offers a broad portfolio of accredited calibration services, including dimensional gaging, electronic test instruments, physical calibration (temperature, pressure, torque/force, humidity), machine tool (CNC) calibration, and CMM & vision system calibration. Services are available either onsite at your facility or in our state-of-the-art calibration lab.
Is PQI accredited, and what standards do you follow?
Yes. PQI is accredited under ISO/IEC 17025:2017, and all calibrations are traceable to NIST standards. Our machine tool calibrations comply with ASME B5 and Boeing CNC standards when requested.
Can PQI perform calibrations onsite at my facility?
Absolutely. We provide both on-site calibration services and lab-based calibrations, depending on your equipment, logistics, and service needs.
What is the capacity of your physical calibration (temperature, pressure, torque, etc.)?
Our physical calibration capabilities include:
- Temperature: –13°F to 1,220°F (infrared to 752°F)
- Humidity: 10% to 98% relative humidity
- Pressure/Vacuum: from 14.7 psi to 10,000 psi
- Torque: up to 600 ft-lbs
- Force (tension/compression): up to 2,000 lbs
We calibrate scales, load cells, pressure transducers, vacuum gauges, and more.
What machine tool calibration services do you offer?
PQI provides certified calibration for milling and turning CNC machine tools. Services include laser linear calibration, dynamic ball bar tests, spindle analysis, A & B axis rotary calibration, and “as found” / “as left” reports. We use high-precision equipment (e.g., Renishaw XL-80, XR20-W) for traceability and accuracy.
How can I access my calibration records?
Customers can access their entire calibration history through our online portal. If you have an account, you can log in to view, download, or manage your calibration certificates.
Where is PQI located, and have you expanded your facility?
PQI is headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota (15300 25th Avenue North, Suite 100). In December 2024, we moved into a new 55,000 sq. ft. facility which expands our calibration space, adds a new contract inspection laboratory, training spaces, and enhanced equipment capabilities.
How do I request a calibration quote or schedule a service?
You can submit a Request a Quote via our website or schedule a calibration service directly through our “Schedule Service” form. Specify your equipment details, model, and any special requirements.
Do you support calibration of CMM and vision systems?
Yes. We calibrate, certify, and perform error mapping/correction for CMMs and vision systems from many major manufacturers (e.g. Brown & Sharpe, Hexagon, OGP). Our technicians are factory trained, and all services comply with national standards and traceability.
What makes PQI different from other calibration providers?
PQI offers deep expertise, factory-trained specialists, ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, both onsite and in-lab capabilities, full traceability, and a robust calibration data management system. Our expanded facility and continuous investment in calibration technology further differentiate our service offering.
